CASE A
Surgical excision of a fully impacted tooth within the mandible.
A bone window is created laterally to the symphysis menti.
The impacted tooth is sectioned coronally and carefully extracted, ensuring the mental nerve is not damaged.
CASE B
Radiographic images and 3D mandibular rendering showing a large mandibular cyst enveloping a fully impacted wisdom tooth and the root of tooth 3.7.
In the image, a precise bone box has been created laterally from the retromolar trigone to the mandibular ramus using a piezoelectric instrument. Note the extreme precision of the bone window.
Teeth 3.8 and 3.7 are extracted, and a thorough curettage is performed on the cyst-affected area of the mandible, followed by irrigation with Carnoy’s solution.
Deproteinized bovine bone is inserted to fill the bony defect, and the removed bone window is carefully repositioned to close the surgical site.
